Research
Within its sphere of operations KOTEL organises and funds research projects aimed primarily at solving the problems currently facing its members. With increasingly tougher competition in the marketplace, firms are under pressure to invest more strongly in R&D. KOTEL offers members the opportunity to cut their research costs by participating in joint research projects with other interested members.
Research project just finished:
KOTEL 071: Virtual environmental testing for electronic product reliability (VET)
KOTEL 081: Acceleration of aging and corrosion tests for PCBA reliability (CORRE)
Research project to be started:
KOTEL 111: Virtual and Physical Environmental Testing for Shock and Vibration in Finland (VPETFIN)
KOTEL 112: Supplier DfR handbook – Receipts for ensuring reliability requirement fullfillment
As part of the assessment process for new research projects, the board sends members a questionnaire every May asking their views on research ideas and proposals. In the autumn, the results of the questionnaire are used to help select research projects for startup the following year.
